The City of Corona is putting the finishing touches on new infrastructure and facilities to encourage more residents to bike in the city. With the help of more than $178,000 in Clean Transportation Funding from the MSRC, the city has installed 20 bicycle lockers and 43 bike racks at parks and government buildings around the city. Bike lockers (see photo below) can provide more security for bicycles, can provide a longer term parking option, and can help shield them from the elements. The final installations should be completed by the end of October. As part of this MSRC grant, Corona also will be installing electric vehicle charging stations at two sites within the city - the Corona Pointe Center and Dos Lagos Shopping Center. These stations will include three Fast Chargers, capable of providing nearly a full charge in 30 minutes, and six Level 2 chargers, and will be able to accommodate at least fifteen vehicles in total. The charging stations will be installed in the coming months.
