At its May meeting, the MSRC members re-elected Larry McCallon, Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Highland, as its Chair with the full support of the Committee. This will mark Larry’s eighth consecutive year as Chair. He has been a member of the MSRC since 2013 representing the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and previously served for four terms as the MSRC’s Vice Chair. Larry was first elected to the Highland City Council in 2002 and represents the 16 Cities of San Bernardino County on the Governing Board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD). He is a Past President of the Southern California Association of Governments and currently serves as the Air District Representative on its Regional Council.
“I look forward to continuing to serve as Chair of the MSRC for another year,” Larry said. “The MSRC remains steadfast in its commitment to provide critical, local funding to continue the momentum of zero-emission vehicle and infrastructure deployment needed to move the South Coast region toward cleaner air and healthier communities.”
Brian Berkson, Mayor of the City of Jurupa Valley, was elected as the MSRC’s Vice Chair for a sixth consecutive term. Brian represents the Riverside County Transportation Commission, where he serves as Chair for both the Western Riverside County Programs & Projects Committee and the Toll Policy & Operations Committee.
Congratulations to Larry and Brian on leading the MSRC for another year of funding innovative projects to improve air quality in the region!
