On February 27, MSRC Chair Larry McCallon joined all the Joint Electric Truck Scaling Initiative (JETSI) project partners to celebrate the ribbon cutting for NFI Industries’ new battery-electric truck fleet and charging depot in Ontario. The MSRC contributed $3 million in Clean Transportation Funding to help NFI offset the cost of 50 Class 8 zero-emission trucks – including 30 Freightliner e-Cascadia trucks and 20 Volvo VNR Electric trucks.
The MSRC partnered with the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) on their Last Mile Freight Program to support “last mile” transportation technologies to help those in the goods movement industry invest in cleaner trucks and infrastructure. On February 8, MSRC Member Bill Robertson was on-hand to celebrate the grand opening of Zeem Solutions’ charging depot near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), one of the projects funded under this program.
The MSRC-funded public EV chargers in downtown Burbank are a hit with drivers. In less than three years, these EV chargers have experienced more than 14,000 accumulated sessions, with nearly 160 MWh of electricity delivered to these vehicles.
